We have had an amazing day today with lots of fun. We thought all about the wonderful world God made for us and how we can look after it.

We started the day with yoga in the hall. It was fantastic.

Then we made some eco-friendly cars and raced them in the playground.

We built dens and then went on a treasure hunt to find hidden pictures of things that people do to the world. We talked about them and whether they were good or bad for the environment. We sorted them into groups.

We got a big surprise just before dinner time when two policemen came to the door with three big boxes…full of POPCORN! We treated ourselves to some of it later in the day.

In the afternoon, we played in the sand. We pretended it was the beach and buried each other’s feet. Then we pretended we were in a boat on the sea. There were some huge waves and we almost fell out a couple of times. We were having so much fun we forgot to take a photo!

After that, we recycled some boxes to make beautiful flower pictures.

It has been a great day.

Class 1 Thursday phonics – ie

Posted by olops | Posted in Year 1 | Posted on April 22, 2020

Hello Class 1 🙂
The digraph we will focus on in Phonics today is : ie
Write this digraph in your book.

The phrase we say is: a fried pie

Have a go at reading these words, they all have our digraph in them:

tie      diet      tried      lied      cried     fliem

pie     died     lied       spied     thriep   pief

Did you spot any alien words? Let me know!
Write 3 real words in your book.
Look at the pictures and sentences. Can you read my sentences? Have a go at writing them by yourselves in your book. Remember capital letters and full stops. You can try to extend with ‘and, so, but, because’

I have tried my best today in phonics.

There is a tie in the pie.

I like to eat fried eggs in the morning.

Challenge: what other words can you think of that have the ‘ie’ digraph in them?

Great learning today. Well done 🙂 x

Have you noticed how clear the skies have been since we have been on lockdown?

I’ve just taken this photo in my garden. I can hear the birds whistling in the trees and there is little traffic coming from the busy road where I live.

The weather has been glorious and it has given us the opportunity to enjoy creation and the fresh air. I love to see you all busy outside too.

Otis in enjoying the outdoors with his sisters. This is great for your imagination!

Zane has been busy planting in his garden. Mrs Fedyszyn will be proud!

Daniella’s plant are germinating. Do you know what that means?

Ella is completing her Earth day comprehension in the fresh air!

What are your thoughts on pollution and how it impacts the Earth and creation?

Good afternoon Class 1 🙂

Happy Earth day! I know right now we are at home in the safety of our own homes, but it’s important not to forget what a wonderful world we live in and to think about the ways we can appreciate it a little more.

Take a listen to one of my most favourite songs:

Which part did you like the most and why?

Fun activity: Write an acrostic poem about our Earth and how special it is. Colour it in and make it wonderful – perhaps pop it in your window. 🙂

Take some time to get some fresh air, sunshine and look at the sky in your gardens or on a daily walk if you can.

I am missing you all.

Good morning wonderful class 5!

Happy Earth Day. Today, we have to really love our planet and make it feel special. Sadly, not everyone takes care of our beautiful home and we need to make sure we are doing our part.

Take a look out of your window. What a perfect day to celebrate Earth Day. The sun is shining, the birds are whistling and our world looks so beautiful.

Complete the following PowerPoint with your family. There is some Geography learning, RE learning and some wonderful activities for you to have fun with. Earth day PPT

I miss you all very much. Make sure you send any pictures of your home learning fun.

Miss Johnson x
