Hello Class 1!
Our mission in Year 1 at school was to bring joy to those around us during Easter time by making wonderful cards, particularly for those who are in hospital. Now more than ever it feels that we still need to bring this joy.
So at home, if you can, I would like you to make an Easter card to bring joy to someone who needs it over Easter. It could be to those in hospital, your family, to a neighbour, to your teachers, to friends in your class – anyone! Remember to decorate it beautifully and include kind words inside that I am sure they would love to hear 🙂
Take a photo and send it via email. We will share photos of your cards on the blog so they can be seen and still continue to bring joy during Easter time.

Good afternoon to my Reception friends!
Are you all OK?
I am super proud of all the hard learning you have been doing this week and I have loved looking at the pictures your grown-ups have been sending me. Keep it up superstars!
I have been super impressed with the story maps you have been doing at home… take a look at some of the pictures:
Gracia has made a story map of The Little Red Riding Hood – I love that story too!
Oskar has made a story map of the Smeds and the Smoos – Miss Clark and Ezmai will love this one I bet!
Tommy has been very busy reading his reading book and then completing his story map!
well done everyone!
Have you done a story map at home? Ask your grown-up to email me a picture so I can see.

Good morning nursery friends,
This weekend marks the start of Holy week with Palm Sunday. We would usually make palm leaves and re tell the story in nursery with the children.
Please take time to read this part of the Easter story to your child from your own bible or use the link below to watch the story of when Jesus enters into Jerusalem.
You could try joining in with singing this song too!
Here are some ideas for ways to create your own palm leaves or props to retell the story.
Looking forward to seeing your Palm Sunday crafts made at home.
On Tuesday I told you about the Going for Gold challenge that has been rolled out across Nottingham City. When we get back to school I’d like to hand out over 100 GOLD bands. You have to complete 8 challenges over the next few weeks in order to get one. You can let me know on the blog, the Facebook page or by email (sarah.herbert@ourladyops.nottingham.sch.uk) when you have completed a challenge. I’d love to see your videos, but a comment will do. Just in case you’ve forgotten, here’s a reminder of the first one. Well done to Oskar in reception, Felisha, Alfie R and Emily M for letting me know that you jumped.
How many side to side jumps can you do in 20 seconds? You can do it over a line in the garden or from one room to another in the house. Here’s my video in case you missed it last week. LET ME KNOW HOW YOU DO!
