Hello,
I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Did you find time to try the first 2 challenges – jumping side to side for 20 seconds (how many?) and passing a ball around your body or legs for 30 seconds (how many?).
As promised, here is this week’s PDF from ‘School Sport Nottingham’.
It contains Challenge number 3 towards the ‘Going for Gold’ challenge.
This week the challenge is  – How many pairs of socks can you throw into a target in 1 minute?
There is a video in the PDF showing how to do it. Remember to let me know when you have done the challenge so I can add you to the list to get your bronze, silver or gold band. You can get in touch with me by using the school blog,  email or Our Lady’s  ‘Friends of the school’ page on facebook.
You’ll also see 5 other PE activities you can try this week. I particularly like the dice game. Which one do you like best?
Try to use ‘Supermovers’ in between your other lessons this week, it will get your brain active and ready for learning.
Have a great week and stay in touch!
Thank you,
Yours in sport,
Mrs Herbert

Hello Class 3

I hope you are all well and managed to have a lovely Easter.
School is closed for the next 3 weeks, so I will now set work on the school website for you to complete every day. This week’s work can be found by clicking here –  http://www.ourladyopsbulwell.com/resources/class-3
(Scroll down to find the 3 tasks for each day)
Try to keep to the timetable we have in school and complete all your work in your exercise book.
Start with Maths
Click to week 1 as we need to start here – watch lesson 1 tutorial first as this will help you to complete the task attached.
Then after complete the Literacy daily task from the website.
In the afternoon choose one item from the nandos activity sheet.
Finish your day by completing at least 20 minutes on the reading or spelling activity.
Remember to take regular activity breaks and make sure you catch up on some exercise – Mrs Herbert is always setting you a challenge!
Over the next few weeks, try to help your families by offering to do extra jobs around the house. Make sure you thank your families for helping you learn and give them a cuddle from me. We’ve all got to look after each other so be kind to your brothers and sisters.
Thank you for sending in photos of your work and adventures – they cheer me up so much!
Keep looking on the blog – you can keep in contact with your friends and teachers here.
I really miss you all!
Stay safe
Mrs Flynn

Good morning Reception friends!

Every day I will be posting some phonics learning for you to complete each day.

The phoneme of the day is…

The phrase we use to help us handwrite it is:

Down his body, curl, dot for his head.

Can you have a go at writing j in your books 3 times?

Have a go at reading these words… they all have the phoneme j in them:

jet

jam

jug

can you have a go at writing them in your books?

look at this picture:

I can write a sentence about this picture:

The jam is red.

Can you read my sentence? Have a go at writing my sentence in your book!

Phonics challenge: what other words can you think of with ‘j’ in them?

Great phonics learning 🙂 Give yourself a high five and check the blog tomorrow morning for the next phonics learning!

Hello my lovely Reception friends! I hope you are all OK 🙂

I have a very special friend here who wants to talk to you all. I have told her how amazing you are and that you are very good at helping others. My friend really needs your help this week, I wonder if you can help her?

Hello Reception!

My name is Nurse Conall. I work at the hospital and it is my job to help people if they are feeling poorly. This week I need your help! Miss Soutar tells me you are very good at helping people and in school you did lots of learning about how to keep healthy. This week you will be thinking more on how to keep healthy and safe, as it is so important that we do!

Your first task today is to make a fact-file about yourself. I would like you to draw a picture of you. Next I would like you to write the following facts:

Your name.
Your age
Your eye colour
Your favourite toy

Do you think you can do this challenge children? I am counting on you! Don’t forget to email Miss Soutar your fact-files for me to see 🙂

Keep safe!

Nurse Conall xx

Year 5 Home Learning – Summer Week 1

Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope that all of you had a restful Easter with your families and were able to enjoy some of the wonderful weather.
I have attached a timetable and new home learning resources for this week. The timetable has been made so that each day incorporates:

Maths work (please correspond to the timetable and select the correct lesson via this link https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-5/) Your child should watch the learning video first, then complete the activity. This is new learning for your children.

English work based on https://www.literacyshed.com/oktapodi.html . Please follow the attached PPT.

A piece of work from one other subject i.e. History, Geography, Science, PSHE or R.E

At least 20 minutes of reading OR handwriting/spelling

Physical activity

Please follow this link to access the year 5 spellings – https://olops.edublogs.org/2020/03/23/year-5-spellings/
Recently, I have had some enquiries about ‘telling the time’. The following resources are very useful in helping your children to do so:
Before the Easter break, many of you were sending me pictures of your children enjoying their home learning – I would love to see more of these during the following weeks. I will also be posting on the year 5 blog again, so please encourage your children to comment on there if they can. Here is the link – https://olops.edublogs.org/category/year-5/
I know how much the children love mindfulness colouring in year 5, so I have attached some for them to use during their break times, if they would like.
Please let me know if you are having trouble accessing the work.
Best wishes,
Miss Johnson 🙂

Class 1 Home learning – Summer week 1

1

Posted by olops | Posted in Year 1 | Posted on April 19, 2020

Hello Class 1!

I hope you are well and have had a lovely Easter! 🙂 It has been so wonderful to hear from many of you and see the activities you have been doing at home while also having time to relax.

Attached is the work and supporting PowerPoints for your child’s home learning for the week beginning Monday 20th April. Please open ‘y1 Homeschool Timetable’ first as this outlines tasks per day and has further information about the week ahead.

If you do not have a printer then please record work directly into the Home Learning exercise book. Encourage children to maintain their best presentation. If you do have a printer, please stick the completed worksheet directly in to their Home Learning book.

Maths – Our unit of learning that we were continuing in school is ‘Measurement.’ Some of this is new learning for your child.
Every day, there is a maths teaching video and activity for them to complete. Again, if you do not have a printer, your child can record the answers in their home learning book. Please let them watch the video. It pauses in places for them to complete part of the activity, then resume the next part of teaching and so on.
https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/

Start on Week 1 from Spring Term (not summer term) as this picks up from where we left off from at school. Looking at the y1 Homeschool Timetable will make this clearer.

Phonics – I will be uploading daily phonics learning onto the blog with a focus sound for that day. Keep an eye out on the blog each day for this! Where possible, children should write 3 words then 3 sentences with the sound of the day in.
Science – I have attached a ‘Science materials booklet’ which has a number of pages. Children can access one page each week or choose whichever page they would like. Please do not feel that this all has to be done at one time.

If some days learning does not go to plan, please do not worry or put pressure on yourselves. Take time to have some fun or follow your child’s interests and curiosity! Child-led learning can be just as important 🙂 Most importantly look after yourselves.

I am missing you all but I am excited to see some of the learning you get up to! Please send me an email if you need any help with anything at all.

Keep safe,

Miss Gethings 🙂
