As part of the Hoodwinked celebration the children have been creating robins in various shapes and sizes. Year 6 created robin mobiles, Year 4 robin kites and Year 1 collages and clay models.
The Book bench is wrapped and ready to go to Bulwell Riverside where it will be revealed next week at a special event as part of Bulwell Arts Festival. It will be in the library over the Summer and return to school in the Autumn Term.
Well done to everyone who helped design and paint our book bench with Mrs Uveges, it looks beautiful. Wild about Words is celebrated through our artwork and really shows our love of books. Our treasure of a book bench will take pride of place in our library when it returns to school in Autumn 2018.
We had some amazing designs from you all. It only seemed fair to create a design that included a little part from everyone, so we now have a design that 60 children from across all classes have helped paint. So far it looks great! A big thank you to Mrs Uveges who has done a great job.
Thank you to everyone who created a design for the Book Bench over Easter. We loved seeing your art work and finding out about the books and authors that you are wild about reading. We are now using lots of your ideas to make our final design and will be asking lots of you to come a paint over the next few weeks.

Today we found out about how we can decorate our bookbench.
Our theme is Wild about Words.
Quite a few people have been to sit on the bench today for design inspiration.
Year 3 helped unwrap our bench. It feels lovely and smooth. How will we decorate it?
Our Lady’s is one of 53 schools who signed up for the Hoodwinked project so we are looking forward to unwrapping our book bench when it arrives. Over the Summer a trail of designer robins will be around the city, whilst the book benches will be on show at local libraries to coincide with the Summer Reading Challenge.
