Poor Mr Rotherham, he was captured by Sven the Viking who taught the children about who the Vikings were and what they did.

Children created a timeline focusing on chronological order about important Viking events with the help of Sven and were really excited by this  strange visitor.  Would you like Sven to come back and help teach the topic? Please comment.

In Class 3, we love our new fraction song!

We have borrowed the melody from Imagine Dragon’s Radioactive. We hope they don’t mind!

Click above for the music we use to sing along. It’s from Sing2Piano.

Are you ready to sing?

Fractions, fractions, we need to know,

They’re equal pieces that make one whole.

They tell us how many parts there are. Woah!

A half is half, big or small,

It takes two halves to make one whole.

They let us know how much we’ve got, woah!

If you split one whole into two,

Then you all know just what to do.

Two halves make one whole, they make one whole.

Two halves make one whole, now we all know!

Woah, woah, we know our fractions, we can take action (x2)

Fractions, fractions, we need to know

They’re equal pieces that make one whole.

They tell us how many parts there are. Woah!

Quarters are the same, big or small.

It takes four quarters to make one whole.

They let us know, how much we’ve got, woah!

If you split one whole into four,

Don’t try to run out the door!

Four quarters make one whole, they make one whole.

Four quarters make one whole, now we all know.

Woah, woah, we know our fractions, we can take action (x2)

Maybe we could choose a song we like and write some more mathematical lyrics. What do you think? Comment below.

In Year 3, we love to put our archaeological hats on and get exploring!

This week, we have traveled 4 meters below ground level! Class 3 spent some time exploring an Ancient Egyptian tomb and all the wonders it holds! We are really enjoying our new topic and we are extremely excited to learn even more about one of the greatest civilizations ever!

Would you like to join us on our adventure? Click here if you are brave enough to enter the tomb!

What did you find? Comment below.
