Our Lady’s V Hempshill Football

We were playing a football match against Hempshill.  We started the game and both sides were playing really well but the game was mainly in Hempshill’s half. Our Lady’s had a corner and Alex was taking it. He did a short pass to Patrick and Patrick passed back. Then all of a sudden Alex crossed it into the box and Patrick banged it into the back of the net. The crowd went WILD!!! We were playing and a dog decided to intercept the ball. But we were rescued by Miss Braisby and Jacob’s Dad.  The final score was 1-0 to Our Lady’s.

Year 2 enjoyed an active session learning about taekwondo this afternoon. It was all about the moves , the kicks and the punches as we moved across the hall. The children asked John some good questions about his interest, how he started , how long he trains for and how difficult it is to learn. Well done everyone.

Egyptian Day!

Posted by olops | Posted in Year 4 | Posted on February 22, 2017

Wow! What a fabulous day we had celebrating and sharing our Egyptian learning. We all looked fantastic dressed as Egyptians and loved taking part in a mummification ceremony (even though it was a bit disgusting!) We also painted our canonic jars, made amulets out of bread and created our own Egyptian jewellery. In the afternoon we made our own Egyptian museum and were tour guides for the rest of the school. Well done Year 4!

Future MP’S – Parliament Day!

Posted by olops | Posted in Year 5 | Posted on February 21, 2017

We had a fantastic morning learning all about parliament. We took part in an assembly telling us all about what it is and how laws are decided and then took part in a workshop afterwards.

We made our own electoral parties and made promises on how we would change the country. We then voted for which one we thought had the best idea.

We also took part in a debate workshop where we argued different viewpoints. We debated whether we should be allowed to take ipads and mobile phones in school. The majority voted no.

What have you learnt?

We we had fun starting The Great Project with Emma and Claire and learnt a lot about our friendships.

I want you to think about something you have learnt at school this year which you could teach to your mum or dad. What would it be?
