Hi Nursery Friends,

This Friday marks the 75th Anniversary of VE day celebrating World War 2 coming to an end. I’m sure lots of you may be preparing tea parties to have in your gardens on your roads. My children have been painting some bunting to hang up. We are going to eat cake and wear something red, blue or white, our neighbours are going to do the same.

Here is some information about it for you, click on the link below.

EYFS VE

Ruby-Mae has been getting ready to celebrate on Friday making a poster for her window!

Let me know if you are planning to celebrate as well.

Hello, today in school we began the day doing Joe Wicks and chose to redo the Scooby Doo session.

As soon a Lettie arrived this morning she got straight to work independently making a mask for her mummy.

Look how Clever her design was to make it fit around her ears.

We started by painting our dream jars in white paint, this was our first coat of paint.

We did some maths work from our learning packs before going outside to build our dream dens.

Arthur said it was his aspiration to be a builder and he has fulfilled this by building his dream den.

In the afternoon we put the second coat on our aspiration jars before designing the decoration of our jars ready for tomorrow.

We finished the day with a frozen fruit picnic and some free time on the iPads.

Good afternoon children, I hope you had a lovely day, have you managed to get outside in the sunshine yet?

Take a look at this funny video Miss Clark and Ezmai have made, where they pretend to be worms and have a race!

They both had so much fun pretending to be worms like the main character in our story this week ‘Superworm’.

Why don’t you have a go at doing this at home? Comment below if you’ve had a try… I think it looks like so much fun!

Thank you Miss Clark and Ezmai for sharing this awesome worm exercise with us 🙂

Class 1 Thursday phonics – wh

Posted by olops | Posted in Year 1 | Posted on May 6, 2020

Hello Class 1,
The digraph we will focus on in Phonics today is : wh
Write this digraph in your book.

Have a go at reading these words, they all have our digraph in them:
wheat   whisker    whirl    whack    where    when

whizz    whistle    whimper     whurp     whape    whay

Did you spot any alien words? Let me know!
Write 3 real words in your book.
Look at the pictures and sentences. Can you read my sentences? Have a go at writing them by yourselves in your book. Remember capital letters and full stops. You can try to extend with ‘and, so, but, because’

Where is the wheel?

He has long whiskers.

What are you whispering about?

Challenge: what other words can you think of with the ‘wh’ digraph?

Great learning Class 1, well done! 🙂 Look out for more next week!

Hearts for Our Friends

Dear Class 3,
I hope you and your family are all keeping well and that you are  having fun at home.
I am missing you loads and have been thinking of you often.
A few weeks ago I received an e-mail from one of your class mates , it was so lovely to hear from someone from our amazing class, it made me smile so much and gave me a lovely warm feeling in my heart.
This made me think about all of you and what we could all do to keep in touch, so I drew some special hearts just for you, I hope you like them.

What I would now like you to do is draw a heart yourself for your table partner in school. Choose one of the designs above. If you don’t want to draw one of these, just put their  name in the middle and colour it in. Then  send it back to school and  we will forward it to your friend. If you wanted to do extra ones for special friends that is fine I will happily send them as well. Just remember to write their name so I know who they are for.
I cant wait to hear from you .
Take care and stay safe .
lots of love Mrs Uveges xx
